Busy morning, and I've got writer's block to boot. May I offer up some cute dog pics?

Mr. Cheese with Molly
I had every intention of being a better blogger. Truly. A few things have been keeping me busy, mostly positive stuff. In the past two months I:
Had an awesome visit with my parents visiting from Texas
Went to Athens, GA for a fun family get together (and saw my cousin's amazing new modern home)
Painted almost every inch of trim in my house
Painted our master bedroom
Finished a walnut coffee table that my father built
Tidied and mulched flower beds
Painted the round chair that lives on our porch
Painted frames & finally framed some art we've had for ages
Had a giant yard sale
Cleaned, cleaned, cleaned
Got the house ready for a professional photo shoot. Super exciting!
More detailed pics to follow in the upcoming days...

Reading Corner
Here's a little peak into our living room: my favorite reading corner. The room is an evolving animal, for instance we've changed out the rug since this photo was taken. Now if only the perfect coffee table was in my budget...

Green Dining
I stumbled upon a couple of gorgeous green dining rooms, and went on the hunt for more. I had a surprisingly difficult time finding green dining rooms that really work. These five are fabulous!

Eames Chair Madness Part V
I apologize for leaving you for a few days my lovelies. I promise to make it up to you this week with lots of cool pics from hot & sunny Florida. We do consider "the hunt" to be as much playtime as it is work, so even on vacation we searched for gems, and brought back some great stuff including this pair of Eames school desks (pictured on the dock behind our Cedar Key vacation rental).

In addition to the desks, we also have some other gems that will be available soon, they just need a little cleanup (a fabulous 1960's Olivetti typewriter, a teak Dansk ice bucket, and more mid-century gems). I can't wait to catch up with everyone, please forgive if I'm a lurker this week, as I have a super-busy week ahead of me: Company in town much of the week - and the housecleaning that goes along with it - and I'll be in Nashville for a couple of days.
P.S. Is it insanely hot where you live? Florida had record-breaking high temps much of last week, and it is crazy-hot here in TN too.

Wood Ceilings + Modern Kitchens
I am enamored with wood ceilings. They bring so much warmth into the modern room.

Flickr Mod & Vintage Boat finds
These pics were found on Flickr using combinations of the words "boat, 50's, mod, 60's, Chris-Craft."
Unknown boat and location - Japan perhaps? Fantastic architecture and use of mod chairs.
I'm digging this restored yellow Chris-Craft. It even has a matching trailer!
A 60's pic - on a boat somewhere in Germany. Could this woman be more fabulous? I want this outfit.
A 70's Boat galley. Awesome mod yellow countertops, butcher block, and chrome grab rail!
And last but not least, your "cute" fix for the day: Penelope the Pug gets a boat ride in Maryland for her 3rd birthday.

Random Cool Eames Pics
My fiance found these Eames pics this evening, and they make me so happy, I wanted to share:
Oh how I love this picture of Charles Eames and Aero Saarinen. Found at Lacour.net. "The details are not details. They make the product." - Charles Eames.
It doesn't get much cuter than a Pug puppy. Unless it's a Pug puppy hanging out in a miniature Eames lounge chair. Found at Annie Ok (a beautiful site!).

Honey, how was your day?

How did you spend your Valentine's Day? My pal Lisa at Bitching in the Kitchen plans on making "Misty Bitch" cocktails tonight, a recipe I simply must try. It's pink, so you know it's good. I spent the first half of my day recovering from my night of too many pints, celebrating a pal's birthday. My sweetie cooked a yummy breakfast for me, and about 3 hours later I was finally ready to get my day started. We headed to a disappointing estate sale, to the green grocer for fancy cheese (because you know I like cheese) and flowers. A few hours ago we set the iPod's Pandora application to the Esqivel playlist, which we discovered is the perfect music to bring out your inner 50's housewife. Even my sweetie was tempted to don an apron whilst vacuuming.
Later my sweetie and I will watch the episode of Battlestar Galactica that we tivo'd last night. This, by the way, is one of the best shows ever made. Think you don't like sci-fi? Rent the first season of Battlestar on DVD and then tell me you still don't. Ok, must go grab another glass of Papio Cab Sauvignon, it's my "hair of the dog" beverage for the evening. I'm a sucker for any wine with a monkey on the label. I also set out that cheese. "Beecher's Marco Polo" (an herbed cow's milk cheese) and Vintage Irish Cheddar (soft, mild, and buttery). Both very good!
