Upstairs, Downstairs

One day I hope to live in a home with an interesting staircase (something completely unlike the dull carpeted stairs in the 1970's suburban homes I grew up in).

Wow! I would love to have a big house with two floors and have a super colourful stair case like the one in the photo!!! Dreaming is for free, isn't it? ;O)
Lovely post, very inspiring

I love all of these stairs, especially the ones with a sense of humor! You are clever to have found all these neat pictures.

I love stairs! That first set it so cool. Our house is almost 100 years old so we have a set of stairs going into our kitchen where the servants or cooks would come in. We have 5 entries into our small kitchen!

Is that first staircase made entirely of old drawers? Love.

If i had stairs like the suitcases, i would take the stairs and not the elevator in my building :)

Great post CC. I have always loved stairs. Guess due to not growing up with them. Only the 'cool' kids had homes with staircases. Our home here in Houston does not have that spectacular staircase as so many do. I'm going to hold out for one such as photo #2 - WoW!! Happy Nov. to you ~

Oh wow those staircases are beautiful!!! I love the one with the mice! That's really neat! I also like the dramatic swirly staircase, I can image myself with a dress like that too:)
I'm very glad I've been introduced to your blog, I love your taste:)

My parents home is a old English cottage from the 1300 so they have a really cool stairwell, big thick stone slabs, worn away by 700 years worth of people trundling up and down. Awesome!
