How about a little late 60's modern decor to start the weekend off right? (And to get me ready for some serious estate sale hunting). All images from Volumes 1-3 of The Practical Encyclopedia of Good Decorating and Home Improvement, available here.
Yes, that is a real Eames chair. And it's red.

Some of these rooms, especially the orange, reminds me of The Brady Bunch. :)
Oh, high ceilings and fire places, how I long for you...
I also still really like the coloured 'feature' wall behind white furniture look - only thing is my colour of choice keeps changing.
I want the room with the vaulteed ceiling!! Seriously everything! Is there a copy and paste into real life option in that book? :)
excellente...i adore looking at vintage decors so much. i really like the woodeny ceiling one...i really think i want to live in a cozy log cabin style house someday...or at least beachy and cottagey...i'm not one of the modern, bare & simplistic peoples.
i don't think i could do the baby blue bathtub though..hehe
have a great weekend marsi!!!
Awesome pictures - the one with the red Eames reminds me of the house in the Black Hills at the end of North by Northwest for some reason!
FUN photos! smiles.
They look like something out of Domino or Home Beautiful, or even an IKEA catalog!
Fun pictures! It's amazing how many things from 50 or even 60 years ago can work in today's homes. Good luck with the estate sales!
I love these images. Thanks for scanning and posting them!
When I unpack my books, I'll have to scan in some of my favorites from my small collection of 60's home decrating magazines.
The 60s rocked but I think my favourite was the 50s - I'm definitely a pastel coloured, polka dot kinda girl :-) Great collection of pics!
Wow!! I'm back in the house I grew up in, in its original decor!!
That top one - I'm sure I saw that painting in Mad Men not so long ago! These remind me of my youth and going over to pals houses for sleep overs! V. cool!
