1 c shortning
1 c brown sugar
1 c coconut
2 eggs
1 1/2 c sifted flour
3 c quick oats
1 c white sugar
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
Form into small balls, roll in sugar, and leave plenty of room for them to spread on the baking sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven 12 to 15 minutes. Yields about 4 dozen.
