Hump Day Design: Kitchens & Dining Rooms

Today's Hump Day design post features kitchens and dining rooms. No real theme here, I just post what I like. I absolutely love this first room. Who knew a concrete block wall could look this good? Painted turquoise, paired with those Eames eiffel tower-base shell chairs and patterned drapes, it all makes for a very cute, inviting dining area.
Way to work a tiny kitchen!
Nice combination of the softer look, using fabrics and patterns with the clean lines of modern furniture. I love traditional elements such as formal moldings paired with modern. I have these Eames chairs in the black finish (pic of my kitchen in this post). Not only do they look cool, but they're actually really comfortable.
This 50's kitchen just makes me happy beyond words. Ok, except for one word: "cheery".
If someone had told me that black walls would look good in a kitchen, I would never have believed it. This black and white kitchen is a stunner. Chalkboard paint!

Loooove these pics! Particularly the first three. Also interesting to see the tulip chairs together with one of those heavy old wooden tables. It works well in that setting.

what lovely kitchens! the "cheery" 50s kitchen reminds me of my first apt...but instead of updated 50s everything was original 50s (in 2004)...and kind of smelly :/
I looove the floors in the last kitchen...sigh

Um, I immediately turned to the Boyfriend and told him, "Sweetie, I think we MUST have a 50s style kitchen when we buy a house. It would make my day, every day!" He, of course, just rolled his eyes.

Love the chalkboard kitchen. I've always thought that'd be the cutest - I hope that someday I'm in a house or at least something I own so I can do some of these gorgeous things!

I love them all but my favorite is the black and white. I hate painting, so I'd never be brave enough to do it, thinking if I didn't like it I'd have to paint over it. There's a door in my kitchen I am going to paint with the black chalkboard paint. The turquoise is so colorful and cheery - love them.

Wishing you a wonderful week. xoxo

I LOVE the first dining room...it's just my style! The 50's kitch is awesome! One day when I'm rich I'll have a little guest bungalow in the back and it will have a 50's kitchen complete with pink formica countertops!

I had a black and white kitchen at my last apartment and loved it. The top half was black and the bottom was white wainscoting.

Can't wait to see more posts like this!
