A Pair of Eames Lounge Chairs

I'm home (early!). The hotel screwed up my reservation, so jacked up on a giant frozen espresso drink and frustration, I decided to make the drive back from Texas in one day. I teasingly promised pics of the new additions a few days ago, but you know how it goes when you're out of town - busy, busy. Mr. Cheese took few snaps of the Eames lounge chairs he picked up while I was out of town. One chair is new old stock - made in 1991 but still has its tag attached. The other is the same age, but is pre-owned and has had a repair made to it. The original plan was to sell both chairs, but we are thinking of keeping the used chair.

After 15 long hours in the car yesterday, reclining in the dream chair was positively sublime. Definitely our find of the year! Now we just need a smaller sofa so that the chair & ottoman will fit in our living room (and you know I've been searching for a good reason to ditch my ugly sofa). More pics in the coming weeks as we get things situated...

I was going to ask if they really were as comfortable as they say but I guess using the word sublime to describe it means, yes. :)

I'm so jealous! I think you should absolutely keep at least ONE chair - they are too awesome not to!

I've seen and sat in various variations on this theme and love 'em! In fact, I'd go buy a couple, but we have no room for any more furniture and I can't justify getting rid of our beautiful recliners...so I'll just sit in these "dream chairs" when I go to the mall...
