Faroe Islands

Oh Faroe Islands, how I wish I could love thee. You're so beautiful and rugged...Green grass growing all the way to rocky shores...
With your cute tiny cottages...
Intimate, narrow stone-wall lined streets
Your grass-covered roofs...
Your lush green hills, stunning cliffs, waterfalls and deep blue sea...
Beautiful in every season...
Aurora Borealis...
Fjords and grassy mountain peaks...
City lights under a blue, blue sky...
Colorful little hamlets...
Beautiful coastal cities and marinas...
The most charming church I've ever seen...
Even your sheep are beautiful...
I know you have a tradition dating back 500 years, but why oh why do your people still participate in horrific whaling practices? Faroe Islands, beautiful but brutish...our love affair can never be...

Wow...this place looks amazing. It reminds me a smidge of Newfoundland. That is one place I must go see sooner than later. I think I may live there someday.

Yes, killing whales is horrible. But the photographs are amazing. Grass covered roofs?! How does that work I wonder.... :)

That truly is a lovely place. I'll have to visit the site. But I'm with you on nixing the love affair based on whaling cruelty. Alas.

If you are against killing animals, then being against whaling makes perfect sense. If you are sure that the hunting is a threat to endangered species or it is especially cruel to animals, I also understand you. However, I am not sure this is correct, and if you read the Wiki-article carefully I am not sure your conclusion is justified.
